This website is created in loving memory of Adi Ansems.

Adi Ansems was a beautiful bright young woman who loved life. She never wasted a day not doing something to brighten up the world. Adi was a trained social worker about to obtain her master in planning and sustainable development. She cared for all people: the environment, her city, her country and the world. When she smiled, life lit up.

Adi Ansems passed away on 18th of November 2010. She was 27. Her dead left a void, not only in the life of her loved ones, but also in the community’s she worked.

We, her friends and family strive to continue her legacy. We frequently plan an event that benefits the community or environment in some way. We spent a day picking up litter, collecting food stuff for the underprivileged, nitting beanies for sick children, planting trees or joining a run to sponsor for schoolshoes.

We call this ADI DAY. A day that provides individuals the opportunity to do good by giving their time and talents. A day people join each other and can take some action, while having a whole lot of fun.

Adi wanted to make a positive difference and so do we.

We strive to continue the work of our dear friend Adi, whose philanthropic spirit truly made this world a better place.

 

Adi always dreamed of big things and always managed to make small things happen. Maybe one day there will be a fully operational Adi Ansems Foundation. In the meanwhile, we just keep going on with our ADI DAYs.

From South-Africa to the world and back:
Because of her many travels, Adi was known in many places. Therefore we also hope that as many people as possible will get to know about the ADI DAYs and maybe even join.
A lot of activities will be directed from, and held, in Cape Town, South Africa, which is the home base; but that doesn’t mean we can’t all do the same actions simultaneously where we live in a spirit that’s open, flexible and believes in the strength of people. In example, Timmy Boutsen, who met Adi while she was studying in Belgium, also tries to gather some people to join up with the Adi Days on Belgium soil.
